Another stunning duo of Nebulae lying in the Sagittarius arm of our milky way galaxy M16 The Eagle Nebula and also known as The Star Queen Nebula is a star forming region 7000 light years distant in the Constellation Serpens and M17 The Omega Nebula, also known as The Swan, Checkmark, Lobster and The Horseshoe Nebula is a HII region also approximately 7000 light years distant in the Constellation Sagittarius.
Captured in Color (LRGB) and H-Alpha using the QHY11 Mono CCD and Takahashi E-180 from Western Michigan, This pair of Nebulae are a little easier for me to capture than M8 and M20 as they are between 9 and 10 degrees higher in altitude.
